Cancellations & refunds
Your card is held, not charged, until a professional accepts. Here is what happens in every other case.

You are not charged when you book
Booking authorises your card. It does not take the money. The amount is held by your bank, and only collected when your professional accepts the round. If they don't, the hold is released and nothing is ever taken — so there is no refund to wait for.
Depending on your bank, a held amount may show as pending in your app. It is not a payment and it will disappear on its own if the round is not accepted.
If the professional declines
Every booking is a request until your pro accepts it. Professionals have 48 hours to answer. If they decline, or don't answer in time, the hold on your card is released automatically. You are charged nothing, you don't have to ask, and the 72-hour rule below doesn't apply.
On a corporate or society day each professional accepts their own part. If one declines, we will offer a replacement; if you would rather not go ahead, that professional's share is released or refunded.
Once your pro has accepted
Cancel more than 72 hours before your round and you get everything back. Inside 72 hours, the booking is non-refundable, because your professional has held the time and turned other work away.
If we cancel
Full refund, always, however close to the day it is.
Weather and course closures
If the course closes — frost, flooding, a competition — you get a full refund or a free move to another date, whichever you prefer, even inside the 72 hours. If the course is open and you would rather not play in the rain, the normal 72-hour rule applies.
Green fees
Green fees belong to the golf club, not to GWP. Where you have paid them through us and the round does not happen, we refund them. Where you pay the club directly, their own policy applies and you will need to speak to them.
Your 14-day cancellation right
Most things bought online carry a 14-day right to change your mind. Bookings for leisure activities on a specific date are an exception — regulation 28(1)(h) of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. So the 72-hour policy above is what applies to your round. It does not affect your rights if something goes wrong with the service itself.
If the round was not what was promised
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 a service must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If it was not, tell us within a reasonable time and we will put it right or refund you. Nothing on this page removes that right.
How to cancel, and how refunds arrive
Sign in and use Cancel booking on the round, or email golfwithpros@gmail.com with your reference.
If the round was never accepted, there is nothing to refund — the hold is released and drops off your statement within a few working days. If it had been accepted and charged, the refund goes back to the card you paid with, usually within 5–10 working days depending on your bank.
